Case Study
Summary
Overlap is a smart productivity app for remote startups that shows team availability through "Overlap Hours" and suggests meetings accordingly. It features randomized "Hangouts" that match employees based on time and preferences, a "Catch-up" tool that summarizes missed meetings, and "Rooms" for remote collaboration via whiteboards and integrated productivity apps.
Problem Statement
Design a comprehensive solution to address the following challenges in one platform: "Hybrid and remote work bring flexibility, but also miscommunication, lost progress, and weaker team connections."
"Teams struggle with inefficient communication across time zones, difficulty in tracking project progress and deadlines, lack of spontaneous interactions that foster creativity and team bonding, and challenges in onboarding new team members remotely."
